She's been there a year and has had a bit of trouble adjusting. She had to get rid of lots of things and blessed me with some of her antiques. She's okay now.
I know it would be easier to have a smaller home, but I love my 'stuff'! :)Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2302056359724394882.post-42162110787114404032010-09-27T08:49:32.532-05:002010-09-27T08:49:32.532-05:00Oh my! My husband just said the other day, he never wanted a bigger home than this. When the kids move out I often wonder if it will be too roomy. It is easier to repair and maintain a smaller home that is for sure. We do have a 10x15 storage room for stuff like quilts, photo albums and some special furniture. It's very liberating, and when (if) we finally do buy another house, we won't "need" nearly as much space as we used to. Enjoy your new abode.Allisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02475433199308666648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2302056359724394882.post-60851733566903126082010-09-25T11:18:52.170-05:002010-09-25T11:18:52.170-05:00My parents downsized after I went to college and i...My parents downsized after I went to college and it was amazing how much stuff at piled up. I was really interested in your post because we've always believed in 'simplicity' and although we could have lived in a large house we chose a small barn conversion. It was only just big enough for all three of us but now Son has gone it is just perfect and we love it. I sometimes think decluttering is a really good thing. It allows you to focus on the more important aspects of life. Love your 'Fall' photo too.Carol E Wyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12375439814725846546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2302056359724394882.post-89216230103039730792010-09-25T06:15:31.776-05:002010-09-25T06:15:31.776-05:00Just a quick note. Did not like living in the city and moved back to my homeplace. Built 1200 sq for just "me". I love it and posted pictures. Then a loft area of about 600 sq that is a bedroom, bath and sitting tv area for children and grandchildren or anyone that visits. I am surrounded by woods, have a deck and screen porch. So over the last 6 years moved 3 times and gave away half I had. Do not miss any of it. In fact still too much in this cozy cottage. Enough said.
Enjoy your new home!!One Woman's Journey - a journal being written from Woodhaven - her cottage in the woods.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12548226150115102345noreply@blogger.com
